Breaking up the digital sphere

In between the many hours spent enveloped in digital creations, I find it cathartic to step away, roll up my sleeves, and work with some hands-on mediums. I have a background in the arts, and it led me down this path to graphic design. I am someone who feels the constant need to be creative. Shaking things up from digital to physical mediums is very beneficial for me. It helps inspire, strengthen, and deepen my understanding of both disciplines in new ways all the time. Sometimes when a digital project leaves me stumped or stuck, the best way to find a solution is discovered after I step away and enter the physical realm of creation. It usually hits me like one of those "aha!" moments people get in the shower, or in the dead of night.

Finding my groove

After spending years exploring every medium under the sun, I finally found my groove working with secondhand frames, pressed flora and fauna, and minimalist line work. I wanted to align my art with my values, and both sustainability and earth-consciousness are deeply important to me. So when I found I was able to advocate for something I‘m passionate about, using art as the vessel, I felt like I struck gold.

Giving Back

Since the launch of my online art shop in the summer of 2020, I’ve been able to donate proceeds to WWF to help combat the aftermath of the Australian Bushfire, to Loaves Fishes to help feed our local houseless population, support local agricultural fundraisers, to the Marsha P. Johnson Institute, to organizations advocating for Intersectional Environmentalism, and plant over 300 trees via Tentree and One Tree Planted.

It is an ongoing passion project that inspires me for so many reasons. Since the beginning of this art venture, I have been able to connect to build a sense of local and online community, advocate for causes I care about, and express myself though sustainable art mediums.
